Christian Keys Accuses Tyler Perry Of Show Theft

Christian Keys Accuses Tyler Perry Of Show Theft

Christian Keys Accuses Tyler Perry Of Show Theft. In January 2026, actor and writer Christian Keyes publicly accused Tyler Perry Studios (TPS) and Tyler Perry of attempting to “steal” his creative credit for the hit series All the Queen’s Men. Keyes, who created the show based on his novel Ladies Night, shared his frustrations during an Instagram Live session. He detailed several professional grievances as the show approached its fifth and final season on BET+.

Christian Keys Claims Tyler Perry Stole His Show Concept

In a recent interview, Christian alleged that Tyler Perry had plagiarized his original show idea. Christian said he had pitched a concept to Perry’s production company. Only to find to see a strikingly similar show air shortly after.

The show in question reportedly shared many similarities with Keys’ original idea. In the original book, “Ladies Night,” the concept centered on Amp Anthony.

Amp was a recently released felon who found work as a male exotic dancer. Based on this concept, Christian created “Club Eden,” which was managed by the savvy club owner, Madam DeVille.

This idea was to present the show as a “gritty but grounded” drama about power and survival. Some of Christian’s issues with Tyler were that the show’s original concept was changed.

After the first, allegedly, Tyler stepped in and took direction. That is when the show took a different turn. In other words, Christian’s ideas ended.

Key Allegations

  • Removal of Credits: Keyes claimed that Tyler Perry Studios removed his “Created By” credit starting in Season 2. He stated that he had to involve the Writers Guild of America (WGA) to force the studio to reinstate his credit.
  • Loss of Creative Control: While Keyes wrote the entire first season, he alleged that Perry took over the writing for subsequent seasons. Keyes described the shift in tone during Seasons 2 and 3 as “weird” and claimed the new storylines sabotaged his original vision.
  • Leadership Issues: Keyes described the studio’s leadership as “shady and corny,” questioning why a mogul with “16-17 shows” would feel the need to take credit for the one show Keyes created himself.
  • Unprofessional Environment: Keyes mentioned experiencing “dismissive” and “disrespectful” behavior, noting that he often learned about show renewals online rather than directly from the network or studio.

We have learned from Christian that his show will not return to BET. And, now Christian is shopping other networks to air the popular show.

Future Of The Series

Keyes expressed relief that the show is ending its run at BET+ after Season 5. He indicated plans to take the series and his intellectual property to a new network.

In hopes to continue the story under his own creative authority.  Tyler Perry and representatives for Tyler Perry Studios have not publicly responded to these specific allegations.

As of January 2026, there has been no official response or public statement from Tyler Perry, Tyler Perry Studios, or BET+.

Regarding Christian’s specific allegations of credit “theft,” the situation remains uncertain.

Reports indicate that Tyler’s representatives declined to comment when contacted by multiple entertainment outlets.

This silence comes as Tyler faces other high-profile legal challenges. These allegations include sexual assault allegations from actors Mario Rodriguez and Derek Dixon, which Perry has explicitly denied.

Current Status Of the Conflict

  • Legal & Union Action: Keyes stated that the WGA (Writers’ Guild of America) had to intervene to force the studio to reinstate his “Created By” credit after it was allegedly removed in Season 2.

  • Creative “Sabotage”: Keyes continues to maintain that Perry’s writing in Seasons 2 and 3 introduced unnecessary shock value that ruined the integrity of the original story.

  • Show’s Future: While the show is officially ending on BET+ after Season 5, Keyes has claimed he owns the underlying rights and is in talks with other streamers to continue the universe elsewhere.

As this saga continues to unfold, we will keep you all posted. For now, “All The Queen’s Men” is at a standstill.
