Former NFL star and sports analyst Shannon Sharp has announced his plans to pursue a defamation lawsuit against a woman who accused him of rape. The allegations recently surfaced, causing significant damage to Sharp’s reputation and career. Now, Sharp is determined to clear his name.

In response to the rape accusations made against him, Shannon took to his Instagram. During the IG video, Shannon claimed attorney Tony Buzbee and Jane Doe are trying to extort him for money.
That is why a $50 million lawsuit was filed against him for Sexual Assault. It appears that Shannon is trying to steer the narrative of the horrific allegations against him.
According to TMZ reports, Jane Doe’s attorney Tony Buzbee released an audio tape of Shannon. In this audio, we hear Shannon allegedly threatening Jane Doe.
It appears Jane Doe is saddened by the words coming from Shannon. And, if you take a close listen to the audio, Shannon does allegedly threaten her.
Having said this, the audio has gone viral. And, it makes Shannon out to be a monster. However, Shannon’s IG live post claims this is only a “shakedown.”
Lawsuit Against Rape Accuser
Tony Buzbee’s name has been in the media for some time now. Let me refresh your memories, Tony was the attorney on Jay-Z’s sexual assault claim by another Jane Doe.
But after scrutiny, the case was dismissed. That dismissal ended with Jay-Z emerging as the victor. We can’t say the same for Shannon, because there are alleged damaging videos of him making threats.
At the very least, Shannon could be charged with some crime. Be that as it may, Shannon is determined to clear his name, having started a campaign to prove his innocence.
Can you blame him? On one hand, there are the claims by Jane Doe, which seem believable. Or so it seems. Is it possible that Shannon is being targeted for extortion?
Or is Shannon guilty of raping Jane Doe? Either way, Shannon’s reputation will surely suffer. Nevertheless, Shannon is doing all he can to protect his reputation and save his legacy.
At the same time, Shannon is fighting for his integrity. People report that Shannon’s legal team is currently preparing a defamation lawsuit against Jane Doe. Rightfully so.
By filing the defamation lawsuit, Shannon’s legal team will hold his accuser accountable. This could be problematic if her accusations prove to be true.
These kinds of lawsuits are complex. Oftentimes, those involved in this sort of lawsuit opt to settle out of court. Again, we are not sure if Shannon is prepared to do that.
Especially since he is saying he intended to pursue a defamation lawsuit against Tony Buzbee and Jane Doe. As this all unfolds in the public eye, who will be the victor?
