Reginald Gibson was a crucial figure in the West Coast hip-hop scene in the 1990s. He is known for his distinctive voice and intricate wordplay.

His solo albums and collaborations with groups like Hobo Junction gained a loyal following. His contributions to the genre were undeniable, and his sudden passing has left many in the hip-hop community shocked and saddened.

Legendary rapper Xzibit broke the news to the public. Xzibit and Saafir were former members of the rap group “Golden State Warriors.”

If you don’t remember, Saafir co-starred in the classic 1993 movie “Menace II Society.”  The rapper was Caine’s cousin Harold, who was killed in a shoot-out.

According to TMZ, Saafir was plagued with health issues for years. As a result of a cancerous tumor removed from his spine, Saafir was using a wheelchair.

At this time, we are not sure if his precious health issues caused his death. However, Xzibit shared this on social media.

Then, Xzibit encouraged Saafir’s family and friends to contact his family. It was reported that Saafir died on Tuesday, November 19, in Oakland, his hometown.

We have learned that Saafir was also slain rapper Tupac Shakur, dancer and roommate on “Digital Underground.”

Saafir released his debut album, “Boxcar Sessions, “ in 1994, which was released by Quincy Jones (Qwest Records). As Rolling Out stated, his final release was an EP titled “Fast Lane.
