Damon Dash Loses Lawsuit: The Facts!!!!!
According to allhiphop.com, a jury ruled against Damon dash in a copyright infringement and defamation lawsuit on Wednesday.
First, the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder must pay a total of $805,000 to director Josh Webber and Muddy Water Pictures.
Dash was sued for allegedly trying to promote himself as a producer for the Dear Frank motion picture after being removed.
Dear Frank stars Brian White, Claudia Jordan, Columbus Short, and a host of others.
Dash has responded to losing in court. On his Instagram page, he wrote,
You have to lose some battles to win war… stay tuned #fatliars #youwillneverbeme. Don’t ever say you directed my movie.
Josh Webber also reacted to the news on his Instagram account. He wrote,
Case closed @duskopoppington #dearfrankmovie.
Second, the jury awarded Muddy water Pictures $30,000 for copyright infringement, $125,000 in punitive damages.
Webber was also awarded $400,000 in compensatory damages for defamation and $250,000 in punitive damages.
In conclusion, Dash didn’t win this case, but I hope that he wins in the long run.
