Ashanti is being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In the category of Recording, the singer will be honored on April 7th.

Ashanti is the latest singer set to get her star in Hollywood.
Though it’s been two decades since the singing beauty first entered the music scene, she is still a force in the industry.
Finally, the Grammy-Award-winning songstress will get her due.
While she is well-deserving of this honor, she is not only an accomplished singer, this lovely lady is also an actress, songwriter, author, and executive producer.
Dedicated in the category of Recording, Ashanti is set to be presented with the 2,718th star on Thursday, April 7th at 11:30 a.m.
And it will be located at 7060 Hollywood Boulevard.
Also, Tichina Arnold and Ja Rule are the guest speakers for the event.

As for the Hollywood Walk Of Fame Committee, Producer Ana Martinex spoke on their decision to reward Miss Ashanti with her very own star –
“Ashanti is an award-winning singer, author, actress, and executive producer. She has proven her talent in many different Hollywood industries and is an example for young girls who want to be in the ‘biz,’”
Acknowledging her many achievements, as far as music goes, it is noted that Ashanti –
- has made history more than once
- her self-titled album reached #1 on Billboard Top 200 chart
- and also reached #1 on the R&B album chart
- it sold 504,593 units in its first week
- set SoundScan record as the most albums sold by any debut female artist in the chart’s history
- earned her spot in the Guinness Book of World Records (which is yet to be broken)
