Snoop Dogg celebrates one of hip hop’s greatest albums, ‘Doggystyle‘.
It’s been 30 years since the release of the iconic album.
To share the milestone with fans, the 51-year-old multi-talented rapper – real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. – is performing at the Hollywood Bowl.
The Doggfather will be joining the Hollywood Bowl’s 2023 concert lineup on June 27-28.
According to Billboard, the event will include many special guests to help him celebrate the album.
Supporting the show will be The reCollective Orchestra, led by Derrick Hodge.
Doggystyle, released on November 23, 1993, was his first album with Death Row Records.
The first time Snoop was heard was on The Chronic album, to which he had significant contributions.
His distinctive vocal flow and realism shined throughout the project.
Riding on the success of that album, ‘Doggystyle‘ (produced by his mentor, Dr. Dre) was the label’s first full-length project by a solo artist.
It went on to debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s 200 Chart.
He sold 806,858 copies in the first week…and that was just in the United States.
At the time it was the record for a debuting artist and the fastest-selling hip-hop album ever.
