Fans eagerly anticipated Usher’s Atlanta concert, which was set to be a highlight of his highly anticipated tour. However, just hours before the show was scheduled to start, news broke that the concert had been canceled.
At first, there was no explanation for why Usher would not be performing. According to Entertainment Weekly, Usher canceled his performance due to an alleged neck injury.
While fans are disappointed, it appears Usher will perform later in Atlanta. His other concerts scheduled for Philadelphia may still go on.
In place of the news, Usher said, “I wouldn’t be the entertainer that I am if I can’t physically give you my best.”
Fans Left Disappointed as Tour Hangs in Balance
According to a report by USA Today, his neck injury allegedly occurred during a rehearsal. The injury did not seem to be a problem, but it may take a little longer than Usher anticipates to recover.
Having said this, his fans in Washington may still get a chance to see Usher perform.
That is if his doctors give him clearance. Many fans had already purchased tickets and made travel arrangements to see Usher perform in other cities.
So, it will be very disappointing if Usher can not make good on his promise.
Uncertainty Surrounds Usher’s Future Performances and Tour Dates
As the canceled Atlanta concert news spread, uncertainty loomed over Usher’s future performances and tour dates. Hopefully, Usher will be able to salvage the tour.
Fans are hopeful after Usher’s official statement on social media. As we mentioned earlier, parts of his tour may be salvaged. For now, it would be appropriate to give back fans their money for the Atlanta show.
Unless Usher doubles back at a later date to give Atlanta fans a show, I can certainly understand fans’ disappointment, especially since Usher puts on a great show.
Unfortunately, things happen, we can only hope Usher will get better soon.
