President Trump Pardons Rapper NBA YoungBoy. This is excellent news for the embattled rapper who has been in jail for some time now. When President Trump does anything, he does it in a big way. It is not the first time a president has pardoned a rapper’s sentence; in this case, it was Kentrell Gaulden, who is the recipient of the president’s generosity.

President Trump Goes On A Clemency Spree

President Trump Pardons Rapper NBA YoungBoy.

NBA YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, has been a controversial figure in the music industry due to his legal troubles. The rapper has been involved in various criminal cases, including weapon possession and assault charges.

Despite his troubled past, President Trump decided to grant him a pardon. And, NBA Youngboy shared his excitement by saying,

“I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and giving me the opportunity to keep building — as a man, as a father, and as an artist,”

The rapper went on to say, It means a lot to him. This opens the door for many opportunities. As we all know, NBA Youngboy Never Broke Again returned to prison due to a probation violation.

According to Rolling Stone, the rapper was on house arrest for several years awaiting trial. However, he was arrested in April 2024 when it was discovered he had guns in his home.

NBA Youngboy was involved in a prescription drug ring. USA Today reports that the charges were considered misdemeanors. But the following month, he was charged with a previous gun case.

Due to the previous charges, he was sentenced to 23 months in prison.

Controversy Surrounds the President’s Decision to Pardon Celebrities

NBA Youngboy was not the only recipient of the presidential pardons. Larry Hoover, as well as reality TV stars Julie and Todd Chrisley, were also granted clemency.

Not everyone agrees with the president’s choices to grant clemency to those we mentioned. Indeed, the alleged crimes committed by Larry Hoover and the Chrisleys are questionable.

Be that as it may, the president had the authority to grant anyone clemency. Keep in mind, President Trump is not the only president to make such controversial moves.

After some investigation, we came across those whom former President Biden pardoned. Before Joe Biden left the Oval Office, he pardoned his son, Hunter Biden, as reported by New York Magazine.

Then he commuted the sentences of prisoners in a federal prison on death row.  Some of those who received pardons from Joe Biden were non-violent criminals.

To top it off, he pardoned criminals who were on home confinement due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If we examine other presidents, we would see that more controversial individuals have been granted clemency.

Having said this, NBA Youngboy is excited to be going home. There are rumors of NBA Youngboy planning a comeback by touring soon.
