Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has once again demonstrated his generosity by donating $200,000 towards providing air conditioning units for schools in need in the city of Philadelphia. The Philadelphia school district is benefiting with 300 units.
This is a great thing for schools who are without air during the heat.
According to NBC News, 10 schools across the school district will get the air conditioners.
Here are the schools who will benefit, Clara Barton, Gloria Casarez, and Castor Gardens.
In addition, Thomas Finletter, Fitler Academics Plus and Abram Jenks, as stated by Black Enterprise.
There were two other schools who will receive the air conditioners.

Jalen mentioned Philadelphia has given him much. Therefore, he wanted to give back in a big way.
The Philly Voice reported, there have been long standing issues with providing AC units.
A lot of the inner city children do not have AC units in there schools.
Especially, in North Philadelphia schools.
Most of the schools in certain neighborhoods are not equipped with air.
And, during eighty degree and above whether schools have closed.
More than 100 schools are in need of upgrades or AC units.
There is a five-year plan put in place to solve the issue.
As we all know funding for the Philadelphia school district has been limited.
So, for Jalen to give $200K is very helpful. Superintendent Tony B.Watlington said,
“We are incredibly grateful to Jalen Hurts for his generosity and commitment to our schools, our students, and our employees,” said Tony B. Watlington, Sr. Ed.D., Superintendent of the School District of Philadelphia. “This contribution not only enhances the physical infrastructure of our schools but also demonstrates a meaningful investment in our student’s well-being and academic success. As temperatures continue rising in Philadelphia, we know air conditioning can significantly influence the learning experience.”
