The alleged accomplice, Cortlen Henry, aka YNW Bortlen, was charged alongside YNW Melly. Both were allegedly involved in a double murder in 2018.
The victims, Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr., were reportedly close friends of the two men. Cortlen has now admitted to his involvement in the crime, shocking many who had followed the case closely.
But in a shocking event in court, Cortlen has taken a plea agreement. He was facing up to 75 years in prison. However, because he took the deal, he may only spend five more years in jail.

Pleads Guilty In Double Murder Case

This development has undoubtedly added a new layer of complexity to the case. According to Yahoo News reports, Cortlen Henry pleaded no contest on Tuesday, September 9th.
However, he did plead to two counts of accessory after the fact. As a result, Cortlen will not have to testify against YNW Melly. His attorney, Fred Haddad, claims,
Cortlen will give a sworn statement that will explain his role in the 2018 shootin deaths of Anthony “YNW Sakchawer” Williams,” and Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas.”
A deal was accepted in the Broward County State Attorney’s Office, as stated by 6 South Florida News. Therefore, murder charges were dropped against Cortlen. Afterward, Judge Martin S. Fein shared this,
“Mr. Henry, I’m not quite sure how your lawyers managed to do this, but I wish you good luck, sir,”
Can we now assume that Cortlen was not the shooter? And, if so, did he admit it was Jamell Demons who was the shooter? Having said this, taking this plea deal gives Cortlen a shorter sentence.
At the same time, YNW Melly may be in serious trouble, as it relates to life in jail.
