R. Kelly’s Legal Team Requests His Immediate Release. R&B singer R. Kelly was arrested on federal charges in July 2019. He was convicted of federal racketeering and sex trafficking in September 2021. However, since his incarceration, Robert Kelly’s team has claimed his life is in immediate danger. For this reason, they have filed a motion for his immediate release because he may be a victim of a murder-for-hire plot.

According to Variety, R. Kelly’s legal team has filed an emergency motion requesting his release from federal prison. However, the caveat is that they are requesting house arrest for the embattled singer.
This filing was entered on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Allegedly, there is evidence that an inmate has been solicited to murder R. Kelly.
A North Carolina inmate named Mikeal Gleen Stine allegedly signed a sworn declaration. Officials approached Mikeal to allegedly murder R. Kelly in return for his freedom.
If this is true, R. Kelly’s legal team may soon seek his immediate release. Mickael claimed he was told that R. Kelly’s attorneys had evidence that officials were mishandling his case.
A Murder-For-Hire Plot Against R. Kelly Revealed
The push for R. Kelly’s early release is due to a murder-for-hire plot by an Aryan Brotherhood inmate. As we mentioned earlier, Mikeal was allegedly approached by some officials.
These Bureau of Prisons officials are allegedly involved in this plot to kill R. Kelly. In March, Mikeal was transferred from a North Carolina prison.
Now, he is currently in the same correctional institution as R. Kelly. It sounds like Mikeal had a change of heart. As a result, Mikeal claims he instead told R. Kelly’s attorneys about the murder-for-hire plot.
And, after Mikeal allegedly declined, another Aryan brother has replaced him. Both Mikeal and R. Kelly have now been targeted for a hit. So, that is why R. Kelly’s attorneys are asking for his immediate release.
TMZ reported that Mikeal is serving a 30-year sentence for sex crimes. Additionally, Mikeal is said to be dying from some illness. Therefore, spending his last days outside prison walls was ideal for Mikeal.
