Nick Cannon And DDG Trade Blows

Nick Cannon And DDG Trade Blows. It was a little weird to see Nick and rapper DDG trade insults during their appearance on Netflix Joke Fest. However, it was food for banter because neither celebrity held back their comments. And it was hard to tell at first whether they were serious. But it made for good television.

An Unexpected Beef Started Between Nick Cannon and DDG

The stage was set for fireworks when Nick Cannon brought his legendary Wild ‘N Out energy to the Netflix Is A Joke Fest on May 9, 2026. Performing at the historic United Theater on Broadway in Los Angeles, the night took a sharp turn into viral territory when rapper DDG joined the “Wild Style” rap battle.

The Netflix Is A Joke Fest is a massive biennial comedy event that transforms Los Angeles into the “center of the comedy world” for a full week. The 2026 festival, which took place from May 4–10, featured over 350 live events across 35 different venues, ranging from intimate clubs like The Comedy Store to iconic arenas like the Hollywood Bowl.

This year’s lineup brought together legendary stars and rising talent, highlighting major shows like Jon Stewart’s “Night of Too Many Stars,” Seth Rogen’s variety night at The Greek Theatre, and a live roast of Kevin Hart. Beyond traditional stand-up, the festival has become a hub for live podcast recordings, musical comedy, and surprise-filled “Wild Style” rap battles that frequently go viral.

The verbal sparring didn’t take long to get personal. DDG opened the floodgates by targeting Cannon’s well-known family life and financial responsibilities. According to TMZ, the rapper delivered a stinging punchline:

“Nick doing this show to pay child support. But he really should wild ‘n abort.”

The crowd’s reaction was explosive, but Cannon—a veteran of the roasting game—stayed composed and ready.

Nick Cannon’s Savage Clapback

Cannon didn’t hesitate to fire back, pivoting the focus toward DDG’s high-profile relationship with Halle Bailey. Referencing the public nature of their past custody discussions, Cannon countered with:

“Talk about my kids, yeah, that’s fine. But at least my baby mama lets me see mine.”

The line was a direct jab at the alleged friction between DDG and Bailey, making it the standout moment of the night. Despite the “low blows,” both entertainers kept the vibe professional and eventually laughed off the exchange as part of the show’s signature unfiltered comedy.

Event Highlights

  • Venue: The United Theater on Broadway, Los Angeles.

  • Format: A live version of Wild ‘N Out titled “On the Road,” featuring improv games and the iconic “Wild Style” battle.

  • Context: Part of the massive Netflix Is A Joke Fest 2026, which hosted over 350 events across the city.

The battle has since trended across social media, with fans debating who took the round. While DDG’s “child support” line was a crowd-pleaser, many credit Nick Cannon for the more surgical strike.
