Lil TJay was shot and is now being worked in surgery. No suspect has been named yet, but police are searching for the shooter.

Lil TJay (real name Tione Jayden Merritt) was shot this morning (Jun 22), right after midnight.

And it all went down in Edgewater, NJ., just across the Hudson River.

The 21-year-old Bronx rapper was one of two people shot, one was at Chipotle, the other at a nearby Exxon Gas station.

While one was identified as Lil TJay, the other victim has not been identified.

No one has been arrested for the shooting so far, and the motive is not known at this time.

However, a suspect is being sought after.

According to TMZ, law enforcement reported that the rapper was in surgery at the time the news broke.

But so far, his injuries are not revealed, nor is his present condition.

Fans are sending condolences far and wide.

In 2019, TJay dropped his debut album, True 2 Myself.

That effort had him collaborating with the likes of Lil Wane, Lil Baby, and Lil Durk.

By 2020 however, the young hip-hop artist finds himself in trouble with the law, as he was busted for gun and weed possession.
