Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, the renowned music mogul and entrepreneur, has been embroiled in a legal battle that has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry. Recent court orders have mandated Combs to pay a staggering $100 million in damages for allegations of sexual assault. According to USA Today, Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith filed a civil suit against Sean Combs. Allegedly, Diddy sexually assaulted Derrick in 1997.
Derrick is serving a 75-year sentence for alleged criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping charges. He is housed at Earnest C—Brooks Correctional Facility in Muskegon Heights, Michigan.
Also, Derrick was convicted with a separate charge of third-degree sexual conduct in 1998. Derrick’s claim against Diddy says they met at a Detriot Holiday Inn in June 1997.
The two men were drinking together with some females. Later in the evening, he allegedly joined Diddy and the women in a private room.
While Derrick allegedly had sex with one of the women, Diddy touched him inappropriately. At that point, Diddy offered Derrick a drink, which he drank.
Afterward, Derrick claims,
“I stayed sitting there and began getting drowsy and started to pass out,” he wrote in his June complaint. “Then Sean Combs said to me ‘I added a little something to it for you. I will get that from you anyway, one way or another.'”
Then, when Derrick woke up, he claimed he was bleeding and in pain. In his account of the story, Derrick claims, “he ran out and left and never went back.”
When he filed a police report on the incident, he claimed that Diddy had allegedly paid off the police. Furthermore, Derrick suggests he had years of therapy in prison.
Having said this, there is alleged proof that Diddy and others allegedly signed an agreement of silence.
Court Orders $100M Payment To Derrick Cardello -Smith
In a stunning turn of events, a court has ruled that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs must pay a jaw-dropping $100 million in damages to the victims of sexual assault.
It appears Diddy did not show up to fight the complaint, which is why Derrick was awarded such a large sum. However, at this time, we don’t know if there will be an appeal on Diddy’s behalf.
We know that the Lenawee County Circuit Judge issued the judgment against Diddy. According to Detriot’s Metro Times, Derrick was also granted a temporary restraining order against Diddy.
However, we should point out that Derrick allegedly has a history of challenging the judicial system through civil lawsuits.
