Rapper Offset Sued for Alleged Assault on Security Guard
According to TMZ, rapper Offset, aka Kiari Cephus, is facing some serious assault charges. A security guard at the MedMen LAX dispensary is saying he was assaulted.
There are different accounts of what happened. Jim Sanchez, the alleged victim, claims he got into an altercation with Offset. And, Jim claims, Offset’s entourage was involved in the alleged assault.
Meanwhile, Offset gives a very different account of the alleged incident. In March 2025, Jim claims he asked Offset for identification. However, Offset did not comply with his request.
That is when Jim alleges things went wrong. He claims Offest became hostile and verbally confrontational. During the alleged incident, Jim claims he sustained injuries that resulted in him having severe headaches.
In addition, Jim claims he now suffers from neck pain. As we mentioned, two starkly different accounts of the incident don’t match.
Injuries: Sanchez states he suffered severe headaches and neck pain as a result of the altercation, which required paramedics to transport him to a hospital for emergency treatment.
Offset’s Side of the Story
A representative for Offset has publicly denied the allegations, calling them “complete and total BS“ and presenting a narrative of self-defense.
The security guard was the aggressor, according to Offset representatives. Offset’s side points out that the rapper then gave Jim his ID, was met with an “aggressively rushed” him, and spat in his face.
Then, Offset claims, the security guard used mace on him and his entourage. Police were called to the scene at the time of the incident. But Offset and his group had left before officers arrived.
The lawsuit is ongoing, and a jury trial has been requested. The case is a civil matter and remains ongoing as both parties maintain opposing claims.
One alleging an unprovoked attack and the other claiming self-defense. The legal proceedings will likely focus on evidence like surveillance footage and eyewitness testimony.
The rapper has not yet issued a public statement directly addressing the lawsuit.
