In her interview with Shannon, Monique took shots at several entertainers. For one thing, she spoke out against Oprah’s alleged mistreatment of her. She then spoke about Tyler Perry’s alleged conversation with her, apologizing.
But that was old news. We already know about Monique’s beef with Oprah and Tyler. However, Monique allegedly targeted comedian DL Hughley for an incident on his show.
According to Complex, Monique vented about the alleged treatment she received on DL’s radio show. It was during a DL show segment called ‘Would You Rather.’
This game asked questions, and the celebrity guest could answer in their own words. Things turned ugly when Monique was asked, “Would you rather your husband sleep with Lee Daniels with a condom or Karrine Steffans without one?”
That is when Monique responds by alleging, saying, “How does that uplift our community?” Long story short, allegedly, Monique called DL and made him aware of what happened.
DL allegedly pulled the show, and he thought things were reportedly resolved. Shortly after, DL heard about Monique discussing the situation on ‘Club Shay Shay,’ and he immediately responded.
We thought it was the end of the story,however, DL addressed Monique’s alleged allegations.
Reports by Vibe indicate DL quickly responded to Monique by saying,
“The reason LIES and FALSE NARRATIVES continue to go on and circulate is because they go unchecked. What you’re not gonna do is call me out my name and not get checked… MONIQUE IS A LIAR!”
He goes on to say, “Mo’Nique said I was very dismissive. Mo’Nique’s a liar. Well, Mo’Nique did call me, and I heard her complaints. I listened to her, and I pulled the segment. So, if I had been as dismissive as she alleges I was, that segment would have aired, and it didn’t because I respected her wishes. She’s a liar,”
So, a firestorm has been ignited by the two comedians. As mentioned earlier, Monique did not stop blasting just Oprah, Tyler, and DL. Next, Monique turned her attention toward comedians Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish.
It is too much to unpack, but you get the point. Shannon’s show is quickly becoming a podcast for celebrities to vent. Monique’s interview has gone viral. We are all waiting for more fires to brew after Monique’s explosive interview.
Thus far, neither Oprah, Tyler, Kevin, or Tiffany have responded.
