Financial Literacy Is The Key To Empowering Youth
Saweetie Offers A Financial Literacy Course. According to Black Enterprise, Diamonte’ Harper better known as Saweetie pays it forward. In other words, Harper intends to help youth learn about finances.
Harper’s foundation will sponsor a course to teach budgeting and financial planning. Also, each youth will be given a funded debit card. By offering financial literacy many young people will be better off.
She shared her thoughts,
“I want to continue using my foundation and resources to financially empower young children and students, especially in Black and Brown communities,”
In addition, her long-term goals include increasing financial literacy for future generations. The initiative was started in Elk Grove in Sacramento, California. It is her hope to launch the course in January 2023.
Her “Ice Baby” foundation was launched with her grandmother, Roxane Harper. They both started the organization to focus on empowering Black and Brown Youth.
As a matter of fact, she and her grandmother want our youth to have an entrepreneurial mindset. These initiatives in our community are really needed. It is important to have programs like this.
Often our communities suffer disparities. Especially, as it relates to financial empowerment. Therefore, it is imperative to educate young people. After all, if we don’t who will?
Having said this, I always hope this kind of initiative will encourage others. By the way, Harper is having a great year in music.
