Joe Budden vs. Method Man?

In a classic example of the flea challenging the Space Shuttle in a who can fly the highest competition, we look back on the foolishness of… Joe Budden vs. Method Man. It was for a brief period in 2009.

IMHO Joe Budden should be considered the “50 Cent of the Skateboard and White Girl” crowd. With a style, LARGELY bitten from rapper Mickey Factz, in this instance, Joe should’ve stayed in his lane. As can be largely documented with his manufactured beef with Drake. When Joe fucked with the “Wu” I think he learned his lesson.

How did the “beef” begin?

Well, it all began with a lyric, in a freestyle track D.O.A., Joe said the following:

“They gasping, time-out go take a break from the clay and grab a Gatorade/A bad contract, team can’t make a trade/Majors fuckin’ you in the ass/You gonna stay a slave…Shit is fucked up and I blame it on the way it was paved/So I’ll chill for the sake of your age/You’re great live, but let me know when that stage get appraised.”

Not sure where Joe was going with that rhyme. But Method Man, who stays away from beef with other rappers, played the Space Shuttle versus Flea role, and refused to respond. He had bigger things on his plate, the Blackout 2 album, his second album with Redman in 10 years.

Method Man, at the time had a incalculable amount of cred to his name. Again the flea vs. the Space Shuttle. Or better yet, the US Government versus the illiterate crack dealer from the hood. Is that a good analogy?

At any rate, while Method Man fell back, his comrades in arms Inspectah Deck and Chi-King swooped in to pull a mortal combat finishing move to put Joe Budden… Haha.. Had to laugh briefly, back in his place. Check out the video below for more.
