Lil Durk Fights To Dismiss Murder-For-Hire Indictment. Rapper Lil Durk, known for his melodic flow and gritty lyrics, is currently facing a legal battle as he fights to dismiss a murder-for-hire indictment. The Chicago native, whose real name is Durk Derrick Banks, has been a prominent figure in the rap scene for years, but now finds himself at the center of a serious legal case that could potentially impact his career and freedom.

A member of the rap collective Only the Family(OTF) has been charged in connection with a murder-for-hire plot. The indictment accuses him of conspiring with co-defendants to murder in exchange for monetary payment.

According to TMZ, Lil Durk allegedly facilitated the assassination of rapper Quando Rondo’s cousin. In August 2022, there was a shooting outside a Los Angeles gas station.

And, Saviaya Robinson was allegedly gunned down by five of the OTF members. It was alleged that Lil Durk paid for the trip to California, where Saviaya was killed.

According to Yahoo, we learned that the death of Saviaya was in retaliation for rapper King Von. King Von was shot down in Atlanta on November 6, 2020.

After authorities learned of Lil Durk’s alleged involvement, he was arrested. However, Lil Durk continues to claim his innocence in the shooting death of Saviaya.

Rapper Fights to Dismiss Charges

In a bid to dismiss the murder-for-hire indictment, Lil Durk and his legal team are fighting for his freedom. In this latest motion for dismissal, his attorney claims Lil Durk was not involved in a murder-for-hire plot.

But this is going to be an uphill battle for Lil Durk. Especially since there is a song that alludes to Lil Durk’s involvement. Here are some of the lyrics,

“Wonderful Wayne & Jackie Boy,” on which he’s featured, where he raps … “Told me they got an addy (gooo) / Got location (gooo) Green light (go, go, go, go, go) / Look on the news and see your son, You screamin’, ‘No, no’ (p***y!!!)”

Prosecutors claim the song, which was released in December 2020, refers to Saviaya’s killing. Although Lil Durk’s legal team says otherwise, he is still behind bars.

His arrest in October 2025 was a shock to the hip-hop community. Attorney Drew Findling makes the argument that,

“unless they are “prosecuting Banks on a theory of extra-sensory prescience,” then they had no right to make the argument to the grand jury.”

We see that Lil Durk is not going down without a fight. Nevertheless, the six defendants are set to go before a grand jury soon.

As the legal battle intensifies, Lil Durk remains determined to prove his innocence. With his career and freedom at stake, Lil Durk is fighting tooth and nail to dismiss the charges against him.

Only time will tell how this legal battle will unfold, but one thing is for sure – Lil Durk is not backing down without a fight.
