Five Highest Grossing Hip Hop Tours
Five Highest Grossing Hip Hop Tours. There is probably no surprise of who made the list. In fact, once again Drake is in the top five spots.
Rihanna Leads The Pack In Touring Receipts
Five Highest Grossing Hip Hop Tours. When we look at hip-hop touring many big names come to mind. And, we can sometimes predict what artists have great success.
Oftentimes, touring while grueling for the artist can be very lucrative. In Rihanna’s case, this rings true.
Especially, because she has two tours that together grossed more than $300 million. It was not surprising that Rihanna sold out from her “Diamonds Tour.”
Even more interesting, both of Rihanna’s tours “Diamonds”, and “Loud” gross more than the artist I have mentioned.
With that being said, check out the receipts for all five of these hip-hop tours.
Not to mention, Jay-Z toured with both his wife Beyonce and former friend Kanye. So, if I were to combine Jay-Z’s receipts they would come close to Rihanna’s.
On the other hand, if we’re talking about singers, Beyonce would win hands down. We all know that Beyonce is Queen Bey.
Nevertheless, Rihanna leads this pack. Check out parts of each hip-hop artist’s concert.
1. Rihanna’s ‘Diamonds Tour’: Approx $141.9 Million Gross Profit.
Rihanna sold out 84 out of her 87 ‘Diamonds’ concerts, bringing the total amount of people that went to see her belt out those bangers to just under 1.6 million. The total gross of the tour was over $141.0 million, and we’re sure Rih saw a nice chunk of that.
2. Beyonce And Jay-Z’s ‘On The Run Tour’: Over $100 Million Gross Profit.
The final figures for Jay Z and Beyoncé’s ‘On The Run’ Tour are yet to be released, with the pair two Paris shows yet to take place, but Live Nation confirmed that ‘On The Run’ has officially passed $100 million in ticket sales in the North American shows alone. Not bad considering it isn’t even a world tour!
3. Rihanna’s ‘Loud’ Tour’: Approx $90 Million Gross Profit.
Rih took over 2011, beating everyone to the top spot for the highest-grossing hip-hop/ R&B tour that year after taking in over $90 million, and coming in seventh for the highest-grossing tour that year generally. The average ticket price was $74.95 and the average number of tickets sold per show was 15,395, making the average gross per show $1,152,846. Pic: Rex Features
4 Kanye West & Jay-Z’s ‘Watch The Throne Tour’: £75 Million Gross Profit.
When two of hip-hop’s biggest stars hook up for a collaborative tour, you know there is money to be made. Over only 57 shows the ‘Watch The Throne’ tour took in over $75 million, with Kanye pocketing just under $600,000 per night and Jay Z $800,000. All in a night’s work.
5. Drake’s ‘Club Paradise Tour’: Approx $43.3 Million Gross Profit.
Drake’s ‘Club Paradise Tour’, in support of his second studio album ‘Take Care’, was the highest-grossing hip-hop tour of 2012 bringing in $43.4 million over 67 shows (60 of which were in North America and Europe). It saw him perform tracks ‘I’m On ONe’, ‘Take Care’ And ‘Marvins Room’.
By the way, Drake made $43.4 million during the “Club Paradise Tour.” If I am not mistaken overall Drake has made more money than any other hip-hop artist to date. But when it comes to touring according to Capital Extra, Rihanna gets the top spot.
