And Wendy is fighting for her freedom from her 3-year conservatorship.T

Will Conservatorship End Now That Wendy Williams Passed MC Evaluation?

According to People, Wendy was diagnosed with dementia and claimed she was “cognitively impaired.” If you have been following the story, you know Wendy’s career began to implode a few years back.

She allegedly had ongoing issues with her health and alcohol use. As a result, Wendy ended her famous talk show. Some people believe after Wendy went through a very tumultuous public divorce, her issues magnified.

In a US Magazine report, a look at Wendy’s decline in drug and alcohol use was mentioned. In addition, the magazine looked at the timeline of all of Wendy’s troubles.

Things like Wendy passing out on her live show on October 17, 2017, were highlighted. Also, the affair between her husband, Kevin Hunter, and Sharina Hudson was discussed.

Then, Wendy continued to be absent from her talk show. But nothing prepared Wendy’s fans for what happened to her next. Fans learned that Wendy had been diagnosed with Grave’s disease and hyperthyroidism.

This was devastating news for both Wendy Williams and her fans. Because of her health complications, Wendy admitted she was staying in a sober living house (2019).

Wendy announced in 2020 that her show was going on hiatus. After the hiatus, fans eagerly awaited Wendy’s return in 2021. Unfortunately, Wendy never returned to the talk show.

The Beginning Of Wendy’s Conservatorship

In February 2022, Wells Fargo (Wendy’s Bankers) claimed she was an “incapacitated person.” A letter requesting a hearing was sent to New York Supreme Court Judge Arlene Bluth.

This hearing was to determine Wendy’s mental capacity to manage her money. Long story short, Wendy’s attorney, Celeste N. McCaw, filed an emergency petition alleging Wendy was denied access to her assets.

But Celeste’s efforts to have Wendy gain control of her bank account were to no avail. At the time, Wendy’s son, Kevin Jr., had her Power of Attorney. Recently, Wendy claimed Kevin Jr. took large sums of money from her account.

And that was why Wells Fargo took action to secure her bank accounts.  Wells Fargo’s petition was successful, as stated by The Cut. They could have Wendy placed under temporary financial guardianship in January 2022.

In their letter to the judge, Wells Fargo said,

“writing in a letter to the court, that the bank had “strong reason to believe that she is the victim of undue influence and financial exploitation.”

Sabrina E. Morrissey was appointed Wendy’s guardian and has been ever since. That is when Sabrina reported that Wendy was “cognitively impaired, permanently disabled, and legally incapacitated.

Additionally, Sabrina claimed Wendy has early-onset dementia.  Much of this information was provided in a documentary about Wendy, “Where Is Wendy Williams.”

Her diagnosis made fans worry even more for her well-being. Having said this, Wendy has been fighting to get out of the conservatorship. One of Wendy’s first steps was to start getting on social media.

Wendy’s Guardianship Could End Soon

TMZ was seen speaking with Wendy as she was seen in her bedroom window. While Wendy was sharing her situation with Harvey Levin (executive producer), she was not incapacitated.

After the interview with Harvey, Wendy began acting to end her guardianship. According to the New York Post, an ambulance escorted Wendy to a nearby NYC hospital.

There, Wendy was allegedly given a mental evaluation test at Lenox Hill Hospital. Once the test was administered, Wendy scored “10 out of 10.”

Therefore, Wendy may now be able to leave the assisted living facility. Perhaps Wendy’s dementia diagnosis is inaccurate. If so, Wendy could end her guardianship with the Sabrina.

However, it may not be so cut and dry. In other words, Wendy may still have an uphill battle ahead. Nevertheless, Wendy’s being declared a competitor is good news.

Wendy has been very vocal about feeling like she is in prison. At some point, Wendy could regain her freedom and resume her life.
