Teyana Taylor was revealed as the winner of The Masked Singer, season 7. Hiding behind the guise of ‘Firefly’ she came out on top.

Teyana Taylor is the winner of The Masked Singer, season 7.

While disguised as ‘Firefly’, the 31-year-old R&B singer (signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label) takes home the crown.

Teyana is wearing a lot of hats, the multi-talented singer is also an actress, songwriter, model, dancer, choreographer, and video music director.

Already the winner of several awards, including a BET Award, and 2 BET Hip Hop Awards, all in 2020 for ‘Video Director Of The Year’.

Additionally, she received the award in the best choreography category at the BET Video Music Awards in 2017.

Now she can add a brand new trophy, as the Masked Singer winner.

After Winning, Teyana Explains Why She Joined The Show

Sharing her reasons for joining the competition show, Teyana says –

“I was like, this would be something really nice to do and just be able to sing again. It would be fun again and there’s no judgement. Nobody knows who’s behind the mask. You just get to sing your heart out.”

By winning the crown, she beats out opponents En Vogue, Shaggy, and Jennifer Holliday, among others.

She was also up against the controversial contestant, Rudy Giuliani.

Teyana (real name Teyana Me Shay Jacqueli Shumpert) is married to NBA player Iman Shumpert.

It’s been quite a busy time for the Shumpert family.

Hubby recently emerged as the winner of Dancing With The Stars.

But there is no resting yet.

Now Teyana Taylor is focusing on what she calls her farewell tour, a continuation of her The Last Rose Petal Tour.

Her last album, The Album was released in 2020.

However, no new music is planned from her at the moment, according to her reps.

Taylor says about her upcoming concert –

“Sometimes we gotta take the time to smell our Roses even after the Last Petal falls…”
