The shocking incident left the stepfather injured by the alleged gunshot wound, causing some people to criticize the stepfather.

The news of the accusations against Lil Durk’s son has sent shockwaves through the music industry and beyond. Details surrounding the alleged shooting are still emerging.
However, Joshua Pippens, Joshua’s stepfather, claims the incident occurred outside his mother’s home. According to Daily Mail, video footage of the incident shows some sort of altercation.
It appears that a woman, boy, and man were in some sort of domestic dispute. Allegedly, surveillance cameras captured the moment the 10-year-old grabbed the weapon.
Joshua was allegedly trying to restrain the child’s mother. Joshua had reportedly been shot on July 1, 2024, the gun shot wound ended with him being hospitalized.
From his hospital bed, Joshua spoke about the alleged incident. Jerome Harris Jr., the 10-year-old, allegedly took the gun from Joshua, as stated by The Shaderoom.
While details of the event are a little sketchy, the video footage does give some details. Travonna Collier, Jerome’s mother, has yet to make a public statement.
At this time, we don’t know if anyone has been arrested. But we do hope that the young child is getting some counseling.
Also, we hope that everyone involved seeks out some professional help. It saddens me to report about a child being involved in an alleged domestic abuse situation.
Especially since children who witness domestic violence have long-term effects of the abuse. In addition, the trauma of being involved in gun incidents can be devastating for a young child.
Having said this, Lil Durk has not commented on the alleged incident. I will say this, anyone would be proud that their child came to their defense.
In this case, we are glad no one was seriously injured.
