Kentrell Gaulden has had a history of legal issues, including charges of attempted first-degree murder. Despite his success in the music industry, the rapper has struggled to stay out of trouble.
His latest legal trouble stems from his involvement in a prescription fraud ring that authorities have been investigating. NBA YoungBoy could be home soon.
Especially since he has spent months in prison for his alleged crimes, according to People, he will have to pay a fine of $25,000. The prescription fraud drug ring was based in Utah.
Although NBA YB is serving a 27-month sentence, he may be freed soon.
Guilty Plea In Prescription Fraud
In a recent court appearance on Monday, November, NBA YoungBoy had his case dismissed. So, instead of having time added to his current sentence, he will not.
In other words, the prescription drug case will be ended after the fine is satisfied. NBA YoungBoy’s attorney, Jon Williams, spoke with federal prosecutors before his plea agreement.
NBA Young Boy will have to serve five years of probation after he is released. As you can see, the rapper still has a long way to go before he is entirely clear.
It was interesting to run an allegedly organized illegal prescription drug operation. And that the operation was reportedly run from NBA YoungBoy’s home in Utah.
After receiving two counts of third-degree felony identity fraud, they were reduced to Class A Misdemeanors. Judge Spencer Walsh agreed to suspend his sentence.
As ABC4 stated, the judge recognized how talented NBA YoungBoy is. That could be why he has been given a second chance.
Involvement in Criminal Ring
Another essential factor in NBA YoungBoy’s case being dismissed was shared by the prosecutors,
“This is somewhat of a unique case where there have been multiple jurisdictions involved both in the federal and the state systems,” said state prosecutor Ronnie Keller. “This is just really a smaller cog in the bigger wheel of ultimately seeking justice.”
This explains the complexity of the prescription drug fraud case. NBA YoungBoy’s guilty plea in the prescription fraud ring settles the case. Having said this, hopefully, NBA YoungBoy will turn over a new leaf.
This is especially true since Judge Walsh has compassion for NBA YoungBoy’s ability to have a bright future—once he has served his time in prison and probation.
