Jada speaks out on her show, Red Table Talk, and she’s hoping for the best.
We don’t need to rehash what happened between Will Smith and Chris Rock.
If you don’t know by now, you probably don’t care.
But for the rest of us who witnessed the shocking slap heard around the world, this is news we’ve been waiting to hear.
Though Will Smith apologized multiple times and resigned from the Academy, his career has definitely taken a hit.
Not only was he banned from the Academy for 10 years, his upcoming movie projects are put on ice.
However, Jada has been mostly quiet on the matter…until now.
Other than a message she posted, Pinkett-Smith has not publicly addressed the matter.
Her post stated –
“This is a season for healing and I’m here for it.”
After the new season of RTT aired, fans were glued in hoping she would comment on what happened.
But, before the pre-taped show was aired, a message came on the screen –
“Considering all that has happened in the last few weeks, the Smith family has been focusing on deep healing. Some of the discoveries around our healing will be shared at the table when the time calls.”
“Until then … the table will continue offering itself to powerful, inspiring and healing testimonies…”
Well now the time has come, and Jada used her RTT platform to address the issues further.
Here’s What Jada Shared On Red Table Talk
Red Table Talk is hosted by Jada Pinkett-Smith, her daughter, Willow Smith, and her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Jones.
On Wednesday’s episode of Red Table Talk, the subject matter is people living with alopecia.
Jada, who suffers from alopecia (which was the subject of the Chris Rock Joke at The Oscars) used this space to speak out.
Elaborating on the event, the ‘Girls Trip‘ actress took the time to share her feelings about her husband Will Smith and comedian Chris Rock, saying –
“About Oscar night. My deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out and reconcile.”
“With the state of the world today, we need ’em both, and we all actually need one another more than ever.”
“Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years — and that’s [to] keep figuring out this thing called life together. Thank you for listening,”
Red Table Talk on Facebook Watch airs Wednesday at 12 p.m. ET.
