The 2025 BET Awards brought together the biggest names in music and entertainment for a night filled with showstopping moments and unforgettable performances. As we look towards the future of music, this year’s awards show gave us a glimpse of what’s to come in the industry. From jaw-dropping performances to iconic fashion trends on the red carpet, the 2025 BET Awards had it all.

If you had a chance to view the BET award show on BET, then you already know. There were some fantastic performances, which included Jamie Foxx’s tearful speech.
Actor/Singer Jamie Foxx was awarded the Icon Award. And this was one of my favorite moments of the night. Additionally, comedian and actor Kevin Hart did a phenomenal job hosting the event.
There were some show-stopping performances, but for me, it was Jennifer Hudson, Tank, and Teddy Riley’s tribute to Jamie Foxx that stood out. ot to mention, the iconic introduction by none other than Stevie Wonder.
That all-white suit Stevie had on was tailor-made for him. Additionally, the presenters, audience members, and award recipients were all dressed to impress.

A lineup of talented artists came to perform their award-winning songs. Ass always, the BET awards showcased a diverse range of genres, from hip-hop and R&B to pop and soul.
Each category was celebrated with the best performers. Once again, demonstrating that the future of music is bright and full of possibilities.

This year’s BET Award show was one of the culture’s most significant events. Here we get to see the who’s who of music. Awards were given for the Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, Video of the Year, and Best Group.
Additionally, other categories, such as Best New Artist and Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, were awarded. Here is the list of winners:

BET Her Award – “Art of a Woman” Summer Walker
According to Ebony, singer and actress Teyana Taylor’s futuristic performance was an epic. As I was watching Teyana perform, I was reminded of Missy Elliott and Michael Jackson.
Both Missy and Michael were pioneers in the music industry. If it weren’t for their innovative ideas and performances, we wouldn’t have Teyana Taylor or Chris Brown.
Stevie Wonder and Baby Face were instrumental in causing our music to evolve into the mainstream. Surprisingly, the collaborations with GloRilla and Keysha Cole were done tastefully.
Lil Wayne’s performance was well-received by the audience. When I saw Jamie Foxx and his two daughters, Corrine and Annalise, react, it was endearing.

You could see how moved Corrine and Annalise were about their Dad being honored. The audience was left in awe as artist after artist took the stage to perform.
It was indeed a night to remember. From new artists performing to veterans in the game, everyone had a great time. How do I know people had a great time? You could see them grooving to the music.
If I had to rate the show, I would give it a ten out of ten. Consequently, for some of us, it was Mariah Carey’s performance with one of my favorite rappers, “Rakim”, that reminded us that Hip-Hop is a force to be reckoned with.

By the way, there is no way we can mention everyone who performed. However, Kirk Franklin honored gospel great Bobby Jones for his contributions to the Gospel music industry.
