Chris Brown Sues Warner Bros. Discovery For $500M. R&B singer Chris Brown has filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros. Discovery, alleging defamation of character and seeking damages of up to $500 million. The lawsuit was filed in response to their docuseries “Chris Brown: A History of Violence.” Brown claims the docuseries was filled with lies against him.

Known for hit songs such as “Forever” and “Loyal,” he has taken legal action against Warner Bros. Discovery. In documents obtained by TMZ, Chris claims there was no proof of any sexual assault.
Despite Chris’s claims he was innocent, WBD moved forward with the docuseries. Attorney Levi McCathern said the woman’s claims were “discredited,” as stated by US Weekly.
He alleges he was labeled as a “serial rapist” and “abuser” in Investigation Discovery’s docuseries, Chris Brown: A History of Violence.” In the documentary, multiple women claimed the singer sexually assaulted them.
Although none of the women’s claims were substantiated, WBD aired the docuseries in October 2024.

According to The Hollywood Reporter,
“The documentary, released in October, explores accusations of domestic violence and sexual assault against the singer. Central to its narrative is a Jane Doe, who in 2022 sued Brown for sexual assault and battery for allegedly raping her at Sean Combs’ Miami Beach-based yacht. The lawsuit was later dismissed “without prejudice,” meaning it can be refiled.”
So far, Jane Doe has not pursued any more claims against Chris Brown.
Seeks $500M In Damages
Chris Brown’s lawsuit seeks $500 million in damages to hold Warner Bros. Discovery accountable for false allegations. He claims the docuseries defamed him and tarnished his reputation.
Therefore, WBD should pay him for these sexual assault and abuse allegations. The R&B singer claims he has taken responsibility for “past mistakes.” Also, he shared it took him a long time to repair his reputation.
As we all know, Chris was accused of assaulting singer Rihanna, his former girlfriend. That alleged assault went viral; there were photos of Rihanna’s face appearing to be bruised.
It was one of the most publicized events in 2009. From that point on, Chris Brown has been accused of a few other incidents involving the assault of women.
We must keep in mind that Chris was not charged with any crimes. So, for Chris to continue to be harassed is very disturbing. At the very least, WBD could have left out the allegations, especially since there is no proof.
However, WBD and Ample chose to air the docuseries about Chris anyway. Chris is suing them for defamation and seeking $500 million.
If Chris is awarded the judgment against WBD, he plans to give a portion of it away. He plans to donate some of the proceeds to victims of sexual abuse.
Neither Ample nor Warner Bros. Discovery has made any public statements so far. One thing is sure: Chris appears tired of his name being dragged in the mud.
