The producers behind the music tracks in question have filed a lawsuit against Cardi B. Joshua Fraustro and Miguel Aguilar claim Cardi stole their beat.

According to Variety, the duo had a song, ‘Greasy Frybread,’ (2021), and Cardi used the beat of that song as her own. However, allegedly, Cardi did not have their permission to do so.

Therefore, the producers filed a copyright infringement lawsuit in court. The producers are seeking damages for the unauthorized use of their work in Cardi B’s music.

In addition, Fraustro and Aguilar claim their song became popular after the FX series ‘Reservation Dogg.’

Legal Battle Ensues Over Music Ownership

As the legal battle escalates, both parties are gearing up for a contentious fight over music ownership rights. At this point, Cardi may have to pay for allegedly using the producer’s beat.

At this time, Cardi B’s legal team has not responded to the complaint. According to TMZ, Cardi may have used portions of the producer’s song.

At any rate, this will all have to play out in court. If the parties can’t resolve the issue, it can be a lengthy process. It is not the first time a music artist has been accused of copyright infringement.

You can best believe it will not be the last time. Stay Tuned!!!
