Making The Band Playing It Safe Due To COVID-19!!!
Making The Band was set for a reboot on MTV. But because of the Coronavirus outbreak things have changed. It’s all about being safe.
Making The Band Allowing Aspiring Artists to Audition Remotely
Making The Band is an “American Idol” style competition that airs on MTV. But, it is the latest entity to be affected by COVID-19, the pandemic that’s threatening everyone across the globe. Set for an MTV reboot, the final two casting calls in New York City and Charlotte are canceled.
Releasing a statement via Twitter, the network said –
“As a precautionary measure to ensure the health of our production crew, talent and aspiring artists, all public auditions for MTV’s “Making the Band” in Charlotte, NC on March 13-14 and New York City on March 21-22 have been canceled. Safety remains our utmost priority, and we’re continuing to defer to health officials and the CDC for guidance.”
Scheduled to serve as a judge was Dababy for the Charlotte auditions and Diddy in New York. Speaking to TMZ, Diddy stated –
“We want to make sure everyone is safe during these times, so we had to make the decision to cancel the in-person casting events.”
“But at the same time, I want to provide an opportunity to everyone to audition from their homes. So I’ve put together a team of A&Rs that will be checking #MTBcasting on all social platforms 24/7 to find gems. Everyone be safe!”
As reported by the Source, those aspiring artists who still want to be a part of the Making the Band reboot, the show is letting them audition remotely. Good stuff!
