However, come to find out, John allegedly died on August 21, 2024. Although John’s son Kelly Christopher (53) revealed the news, his daughter Shannon was unaware.
Shannon and John’s other family members were livid because they did not know. This has become very upsetting for his family and beloved fans.
It appears that his son had already had his father allegedly cremated. John Amos was known for his roles in the miniseries “Root” and the sitcom “Good Times.”
Also, John starred in “Coming To America” in parts one and two. His career spanned over 50 years or more. As CBS News stated, many considered John the ultimate TV dad.
Some were confused about who John’s caregiver was. At one point, John and his son, Kelly Christopher, were seen together on social media.
Then, we learned that he was in the care of his daughter Shannon.

John’s family is left to mourn him despite the speculation and rumors. John’s children have been at odds concerning his guardianship.
