However, music was a lifesaver for French Montana. Karim Kharbouch, aka French Montana, shares his mother worked three jobs to support the family.
Also, he talks about being unable to speak English, which made getting a job more difficult.

An Immigrant Mother’s Journey in Film
French Montana explained why the film took eight years to complete. He was working on getting his mother a Green Card. Once that was secured, France moved forward with the documentary.
One of the things that makes his documentary unique is his ode to immigrant mothers. French Montana has great love and respect for his mother, Khadija.
During his interview with TMZ Live, he shared this,
“She’s the real French Montana,” he said. “She’s the one that sacrificed.”
“It shining a light on a mother’s love,” he added of the film. “A light on all mothers, especially immigrant mothers that sacrificed for their kids in this country.”
Many know the struggle of immigrants who leave their homelands for America. Some face discrimination and many challenges. But through it all, many immigrant mothers remain resilient and determined to succeed.
The rapper started in the 2000s with the DVD series Cocaine City, which, as reported by Wiki, was centered around interviews with hip-hop figures.
He went on to sign with Bad Boy Records, headed by Sean Diddy Combs. French Montana was also signed to rapper Ric Ross’s Maybach Music Group.
Some of his music includes “Shot Caller,“ “Unforgettable,“ and “Jump.” In addition, French Montana has created music with rappers Travis Scott and Young Thug.
