Top 10 Greatest Hip Hop Lyrics

Surely, every hip-hop fan has a song that causes them to sing it over and over. And, it is difficult to just choose 10 top dope lyrics in a hip hop song. But these are my thoughts.  When you look at these words picture the day and time you first heard them. From listening to “The Sugarhill Gang to Kanye West to Cardi B, creativity is key.

According to Rock the Bells,

“Cooking up the perfect record requires a number of ingredients. From beats and rhymes to ad-libs and flow, if MCs get the formula right then they might just end up with a hit on their hands, one that enjoys the type of longevity that lives on for generations. The opening lines of a track are another key component. Without someone setting it off, hooking listeners in from the jump with a clever piece of wordplay or some sort of bold declaration, the track has to work 10 times harder for a listener’s attention.”

What Do You Think About These?

1. Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five – The Message

It’s like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder how I keep from going under, it’s like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder how I keep from going under, broken glass everywhere, people pissing on the stage, you know they just don’t care, I can’t take the smell, can’t take the noise, got no money to move out, I guess I got no choice, rats in the front room, broke dudes in the back, junkies in the alley with the baseball bat, I tried to get away but I couldn’t get far, cause the man with judge repossessed my car, Don’t push me cause I’m close to the edge, I’m tryin not to lose my head

Drums please! Summer, summer, summertime, time to sit back and unwind, Here it is a groove slightly transformed just a bit of a break from the norm, just a little something to break the monotony, of all that hardcore dance that has gotten to be, a little bit out of control it’s cool to dance, but what about the groove that soothes that moves romance, give me a soft subtle mix, and if ain’t broke then don’t try to fix it, and think of the summers of the past, adjust the base and let the alpine blast, pop in my CD and let me run a rhyme, and put your car on cruise, and lay back cause this summertime
