Lyles clocked at 19.31, beating Johnson’s time. However, the unofficial time was 19.32, the same as Johnson’s. But moments later the clock’s official recording was a second less.

Therefore, Lyles broke the US world record in the 200m. Also, Kenny Bednarek’s (19.77) and ErriyonK’s time was (19.80). All three men beat out all other competition.
Now, all they have to do is repeat this performance at the Olympics. The next Olympics is scheduled for the summer of 2024. In the meantime, Lyles can enjoy his phenomenal win.
Not long ago, Lyles only won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics. So, winning the 200 meters is a great comeback. His family was in the stands in Oregon watching his phenomenal win.
After his win, Johnson came over to congratulate him. After all, Lyles was the first to break the record held by Johnson since 1996.
