Queen Latifah Is one of the most influential female rappers of all time. She is a renaissance woman. Her legacy in hip hop is undeniable.
Dana Owens aka Queen Latifah received The Life Time Achievement Award, And rightfully so. In my opinion, Queen Latifah was and still is a trailblazer.
This New Jersey native rapper, actor, producer, singer, and humanitarian set the bar high. Can you think of any other Black woman who has achieved more in entertainment?
Her career spans decades. The iconic song “U.N.I.T.Y” and “Ladies Night”, was performed by some of hip hops royalty (Lil Kim, MC Lyte, Monie Love), and newcomer Rapsody.
It was an amazing performance. To top it off, MC Lyte gave an emotional introduction to her long-time friend, as reported by BET.
