In a series of tweets, rapper Nicki Minaj announced that she would not be attending the Met Gala by virtue of the Covid-19 vaccination.
“They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. if I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met,” she tweeted.
“It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now. In the meantime my loves, be safe.”
Minaj Implied She was Positive for COVID-19
Additionally, Minaj implied in a tweet that she tested positive for Covid while preparing for the VMAs.
“Do u know what it is not to be able to kiss or hold your tiny baby for over a week? A baby who is only used to his mama?” she tweeted.
A fan wrote that Minaj had not appeared in public for over a year before tweeting about COVID-19. She replied, “I have an infant with no nannies during COVID. who mad? Not risking his health to be seen. One yaself.”
Minaj Proceeded to Tweet About Possible Outcomes from Certain Vaccines
Furthermore, she shared that her cousin won’t receive the vaccine: “My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent,” she reported. “His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married. Now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied.”
Fans informed Minaj about the vaccine and its benefits. Yet another person said they were “unsure” about getting the second dose after receiving the first. “A lot of countries won’t let ppl work w/o the vaccine,” Minaj answered.
Minaj ended her Series of Tweets Confirming That She Will Eventually Receive The Vaccination
She noted she will ultimately get vaccinated, though she is personally holding off on the vaccination: “I’d def recommend they get the vaccine. They have to feed their families. I’m sure I’ll b vaccinated as well cuz I hate to go on tour, etc.”
In addition, she advised everyone to “be safe” and “wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one.”
A poll was later conducted by Minaj to ask her fans which vaccines they would “recommend.”
