The NBA Lakers basketball star Lebron James moves into acting. In this animated movie, Lebron will have to play to free himself and his son.
Will Space Jam 2 be a hit at the box office?
It was in 1996 the movie “Space Jam” hit the theatres. The movie grossed over $250m worldwide. Basketball legend Michael Jordan had the starring role.
And, starring alongside Michael was the Looney Tune characters (Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Yosemite Sam) just to name a few. The animations were awesome.
If you grew up watching cartoons the Looney Tunes was part of your day. In this new installment, Lebron is the main character, as reported by Rolling Stone.
The story revolves around Lebron playing with the Looney Tune squad. They are up against A.I.’s all-star Goon squad.
Actor extraordinaire Don Cheadle plays the villain. Don has abducted Lebron and his son. Of course, Lebron is expected to win the game.
This will be interesting since Lebron and the Looney Tune squad are going against a team of animated superhuman athletes. It should be very interesting to watch how things unfold.
In addition, we get to see how animation has evolved since Space Jam 1 was released. The reboot is expected to be a hit at the box office this summer.
But will it live up to the original movie or not? If I were a betting person, I would say Space Jam 2 will be very successful.
Here is what I see happening. For one thing, so many of us have been indoors because of the Pandemic.
Since some of the Covid – 19 restrictions are letting up. People are venturing out again. That means movie theatres and recreational activities have opened.
Many parents will be taking their children back to theatres. You can best believe people want to see Lebron perform. Whether it is on a real basketball court or in a movie.
Surely, Space Jam 2 will do well. Also, you have the option of viewing on a streaming service. Overall, I think people will enjoy the movie.
