Janet Jackson is Telling Her Own Story
Janet has made fans everywhere gasp in happiness.
At 55 years old, the R&B superstar is ready to tell her own story…so far.
Janet dropped a teaser for the upcoming documentary… and she is in total control.
Uploading the video to her Instagram account, with the caption –
“Hey u guys. Excited to share the first teaser of my new documentary with you. (with a blowing kiss emoji) #Janetdoc,”
“This is the truth. Take it or leave it. Love it or Hate it. This is me.”
More than 5 years in the making, her documentary will be told in 2 parts.
And it will show unseen personal footage.
Billed as the Documentary Of A Lifetime, it will be revealing and unfiltered.
Simply titled, “Janet”, it will air on A&E and Lifetime.
In the trailer, snippets of interviews with several big-name stars are shared, including –
- Missy Elliott
- Mariah Carey
- brother Tito Jackson
- Paula Abdul and others
During the teaser, shots of late brother Michael Jackson and the late Tupac Shakur are seen.
While her mega-hit song, “Control” plays in the background, you see home videos of her mom, her father, and at the end, Janet herself appears, with the message –
“This is my story, told by me. Not through someone else’s eyes.”
Many topics will be covered, including –
- her return to the stage after a hiatus
- her 2014 Superbowl performance with Justin Timberlake
- the death of the King of Pop, her brother Michael Jackson
- becoming a mom at the age of 50
Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of her debut album, “Janet” will premiere in January 2022.
