The Weeknd debuts new series for HBO. Not only is he the sow creator, but the 33-year-old icon is also starring in it.
The Weeknd Debuts New Series On HBO “The Idol” Along With Lily-Rose Depp
The Weeknd stars in a brand new HBO series called The Idol.
Along with Sam Levinson (of Euphoria) and Reza Fahim, The Weeknd – real name Abel Tesfaye – created the show.
The Idol will broadcast on HBO and stream on Max.
The synopsis for this drama series reads as follows –
“The show will center on Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp), an aspiring pop idol who, after having a nervous breakdown that causes her last tour to be canceled, resolves to reclaim her title as the sexiest pop star in America and begins a complicated relationship with a self-help guru and the head of a contemporary cult (The Weeknd)”

Actress Finley Rose Slater plays a younger Jocelyn in this series.
Notably, the late Anne Heche will be shown in her final film role.
