Chris Rock’s live show is scheduled on Netflix. The platform made the announcement today, marking the first time an artist has done a live show on the network.
Chris Rock Live Show Will Be First Artist To So On Netflix Platform
Chris Rock’s live comedy show is set to take center stage on Netflix.
In fact, it will be the first time an artist has done live stand-up on the platform.
The 57-year-old Christopher “Chris” Julius Rock was spoken highly of by Robbie Praw, the Vice President of Stand-up and Comedy Formats at Netflix, saying –
“Chris Rock is one of the most iconic and important comedic voices of our generation. We’re thrilled the entire world will be able to experience a live Chris Rock comedy event and be a part of Netflix history. This will be an unforgettable moment and we’re so honored that Chris is carrying this torch.”
Though it will be his first live show to stream on Netflix, it is actually the iconic comedian/director/actor’s second show.
He did a taped special, Tambourine back in February of 2018.
Netflix has come a long way in their live performances, expanding on their Netflix is a Joke: The Festival series.
During that event, the platform saw 330 comedians performing 295 shows, breaking records.
That all went down earlier this year in the Spring.
In all, more than 260,000 tickets were sold, across 35 Los Angeles venues.
