Kendrick Lamar And Glorilla Win Big
Recap Of The BET Hip Hop Awards. Kendrick Lamar cleaned up. he won six awards. And, Drake won three. However, Kendrick and Drake’s awards were not televised.
Perhaps, the show focused on the performances instead. Be that as it may, both hip-hop artists cleaned up. But newcomer Gorilla was presented with her award on air.
Lamar won Album of the Year, Artist, lyricist, Live Performer, and best video. While Drake won Best Collaboration and two spots for best verse.
The night’s highlights for me were Wu-Tang, Fat Joe, and Remy Ma’s performances. These veteran hip-hop artists gave the best performance, in my opinion. Of course, it was a good show.

- Video Director of the Year – Kendrick Lamar & Dave Free
- Song of the Year – Latto – Big Energy
- Producer of the Year – Hitmaka
- DJ of the Year – DJ Drama
- Best Hip Hop Platform – Caresha Please & Drink Champs
- Hustler of the Year – 50 Cent
Overall, it was a great night of entertainment.
Rapper Trina was honored. She dedicated her speech to her niece Tony Chester. Unfortunately, Tony was shot and killed, recently.
