Will Smith’s Releasing A New Album After 20 Years.
After releasing an album in 2005, Will shifted his focus to his movie career, which he has succeeded in. But as many know, Will started his career as a Philadelphia rapper.
Then, Will went on to star in the hit TV series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. From that point on, Will became a household name. It is always a pleasure to hear Will’s music.
Especially since Will always delivers fun and edgy music. According to People, Will is at it again, making great music. On Friday, March 14, 2025, Will, Tatyana Ali, and Doechi were seen dancing in a video.
This was a prelude to Will’s new album, which is dropping soon. His last album, ” Lost and Found,” had some success. However, it was not the banger fans were used to hearing from Will.

Will Smith Takes Us Back To His Roots: Rap Music
Let me jar your memory: when Will and DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jeffrey Townes) entered the rap game, their style was refreshing.
Songs such as Will Smith’s “Girls Ain’t Nothing But Trouble” (1986) fans fell in love with the duo. After releasing the catchy tune, Will released his first album, “Rock The House.”
This was when people started to notice the duo. Shortly after, as Britannica states, Will released “Parents Just Don’t Understand” (1988).
As you can see, Will Smith was destined for greatness. More importantly, Will and DJ Jazzy Jeff were the first rappers to win a Grammy. One of my favorite songs by the duo is “Summertime.”
Summertime reminds me of my childhood and teen years in Philadelphia. Will Smith grew up in my neighborhood and attended my baby sister’s high school graduation.

By the way, Will Smith attended our neighborhood high school and graduated in the same class as my cousin. Although I never met Will in person, he was well-known in the neighborhood (Wynnfield, West Philadelphia).
Native Philadelphians have celebrated Will’s career for many years. Having said this, I digress. Even Will admits he has been working on this album for some time now.
Other guests on his album will include his son, Jaden Smith, and some surprise guests. One thing is for sure: Will has come back to his roots. At this point, it will be good to hear hip-hop music that is different from gangsta rap.
It’s not that gangsta rap is bad; however, it will be good to hear other perspectives on hip-hop. Did I forget to mention that Will Smith’s movie career has been epic?
From Independence Day, Men In Black, and Bad Boys, Will has shown us he is a force to be reckoned with. Stay Tuned, as Will promises to give us a look at his career in the form of music.
