According to TMZ, Carti spent a few months in a cave in Paris.
His idea was to create music with particular acoustic sounds from that atmosphere, XXL Mag.

So, for three months of his life, Carti explored different sonic sounds in Atlanta and Paris.
It takes a specific creative process, according to Carti, to create his music.
In his own words, Carti said,
“I really try to stay out my head, I try to stay out my phone and I just try to lock in,” Playboi Carti tells Numéro Berlin regarding his current musical mind state. “I’m in my surroundings. I’ve been recording in Paris. I love Paris. I was recording in a cave for like three months and all the music that came out of that is just chaotic and crazy.”
In addition, Carti claims he created music inside a glass house somewhere in the hills.
So, it sounds like Playboi Carti is set to reveal his album very soon.
