Ne-Yo Croons “Don’t Love Me” In New Visual

Ne-Yo Croons “Don’t Love Me” In New Visual

Ne-Yo is back with a brand new visual for the single, Don’t Love Me. And it’s everything you would expect from the crooner.

Ne-Yo Belts Out “Don’t Love Me” To Lover In New Song

Ne-Yo dropped a new track, Don’t Love Me via the Motown Records label.

And as expected, the 42-year-old rapper/songwriter/record producer (real name Shaffer Chimere Smith) delivers.

While fans await the release of his eighth album, Ne-Yo drops the first original full-length visual since 2018.

As for the vibe of this song, the acoustic guitar throughout lends to its sensual sound.

The music video, shot in black and white, goes through the ups and downs of relationship struggles.

But this is no ordinary love song, the guy is actually telling the girl he’s not good for her.

Ne-Yo narrates behind the scenes the sentiments of the guy with a warning for the girl.

Clearly, the lady is smitten with her love interest.

However, it’s clear from the very beginning, that he’s just playing the game.

Check out the lyrics.

Here Are The Main Verses of Ne-Yo’s “Don’t Love Me”

VERSE 1

“And I really wanna see you happy
I really wanna see you secure (Mm)
Confident in your sexy
I know you don’t feel that with me anymore”

VERSE 2

“Running after all these thots, steady telling you I’m not
Lying to your face done got, too easy for me to not
Even though I love you a lot (Hey)
All I’ma wind up doin’ is making you hate me
I broke your self-esteem and made you feel crazy”

As For The Chorus, This Is The Message The Guy Is Trying To Convey –

[Pre-Chorus]
“You should walk away
It’d be selfish of me to ask you to stay
When I know that I cannot love you the way you deserve
I can’t sit and watch you make these same mistakes
Ones I know that you’re willing to make”

[Chorus]
“(Oh) Please, oh, please, don’t love me
Walk away, you’ll be better for it (Oh)
I can’t be, your happy
Walk away, you’ll be better for it, girl (Ooh, ooh-ooh)
I’m only gonna hurt you (Ooh, ooh), you’ll be better for it, girl (Ooh, ooh-ooh)
Find someonе that deserves you, babе, ooh (Ooh, ooh)”

His highly anticipated upcoming album is titled Self-Explanatory.

As for what fans can expect from the new record, Ne-Yo had this to say back in January –

“I’m gonna pull on some heartstrings, I’m gonna give you a reason to dance. I’m gonna give you some music to clean the house on Sunday”

Adding to his statement, Ne-Yo says –

“So with that being known and understood, does a new Ne-Yo album really require that much explanation?

If his new single, Don’t Love Me is any indication, then the answer is “No”.

I’d say the 3-time Grammy Award-winning artist has done it again, fans are loving this.
