Ashanti just revealed through her Instagram Page that she has tested positive for COVID-19! The scheduled Verzuz battle with Keyshia Cole has been cancelled.
ASHANTI REVEALS ON INSTAGRAM HER COVID-19 DIAGNOSIS
Just a little over an hour before she was supposed to battle it out with fellow R&B diva Keyshia Cole, Ashanti took to her social media page with a huge announcement. She tested positive for COVID-19. Though she was still trying to be a trooper and do the show virtually, it is not to be.
As reported by TMZ, the official Verzuz account writes –
“Unfortunately, we have to postpone tonight’s @Ashanti vs @KeyshiaCole #VERZUZ. Ashanti tested positive for COVID-19 beforehand, and we cannot put anyone at risk in the process. First time this has struck us so close to showtime. We apologize to our incredible audience!”
“Get well soon, Ashanti ???????????? Wear a mask, stay inside, and take COVID-19 seriously. It’s truly affecting our community ???????? “
News of the singer’s diagnosis comes on the heels of country singer Charley Pride reportedly losing his life to the coronavirus disease. Additionally, actor Tommy “Tiny” Lister was found dead after complaining for days of having Covid symptoms.
This pandemic is real, ya’ll. Though fans may be disappointed, everyone wishes you well, Ashanti. Here’s to a very quick recovery.
