Lil Wayne’s Take On George Floyd Death . Lil Wayne did an interview with rapper Fat Joe. And, it did not sit well with some people.
Why did Wayne make such a statement?
Lil Wayne take on George Floyd death. I guess people were expecting Lil Wayne to agree that the death of George Floyd was horrific. However, Lil Wayne did not. In fact, Lil Wayne did the opposite. During his interview with famous rapper Fat Joe, Lil Wayne seemed to be unbothered by what happened to George Floyd, as reported by Complex. It was almost like he was not aware of what has been going on.
Unfortunately, Lil Wayne appears to be out of touch with our reality in the United States. The horrible video of George Floyd lying on the ground with officer Derek Chauvin’s knee on his neck was very disturbing. But somehow Lil Wayne never mentioned it in his interview. Could it be that Lil Wayne has become desensitized to the plight of black men in America? Here is what Lil Wayne had to say:
“I think when we see these situations, I think we also have to understand that we have to get very specific. …And, what I mean by that is we have to stop viewing it with such a broad view, meaning we have to stop placing the blame on the whole force and the whole everybody or a certain race or everybody with a badge. “Wayne said during an IG Live chat with Fat Joe.”
Do you think Lil Wayne had a legitimate point? He seemed to think that we are the blame for racism and police brutality against black men. I guess because Lil Wayne is rich his perspective is different. Which is a little disturbing because Lil Wayne came from one of the poorest neighborhoods in New Orleans. So, how could he not be affected by racism and police brutality against black men?
Obviously, being black and rich changes your perspective on what happens in the “hood”, image that. Be that as it may, personally, I am outraged. It is hard to believe that in this day and time we are still facing racism and police brutality. And, it is at a all time high. Lil Wayne needs a reality check.
