Juneteenth Is Our Celebration Of Freedom. A global celebration is planned. Some of the biggest names in showbiz will be there. One of my favorite bands, “Earth, Wind, & Fire” will perform.
In addition, Michelle Williams, Billy Porter, Yolanda Adams, Mary, Mary, Anthony Hamilton, and Jhene Aiko will also perform. Juneteenth is the slave’s emancipation (1865).
There will be an all-Black orchestra performing, as reported by Essence. Famous choreographer Debbie Allen’s dance academy will perform. As you can see it will be a celebration to remember.
Also, Philadelphia’s own favorite band, “The Roots”, will hit the stage. To top it off, Quest Love will be the musical director. You don’t want to miss this.
In fact, Shawn Gee, President of Live Nation Urban shared this,
“It’s a moment to celebrate and reflect on Black independence and the Black experience,” Shawn Gee, President of Live Nation Urban said in a statement. “It’s also a moment to raise awareness and shine light on the miles we still need to travel to true equity.”
Having said this, we really need to celebrate our freedom. Especially since our country needs to be reminded that we are great.
Also, the Black community has always been the cornerstone of the nation. But we have not been celebrated in the manner we deserve. However, we as a people understand our worth.
Therefore, celebrating our rich ancestry is important. Not only that, but Juneteenth was a pivotal moment in our history. Oftentimes, our younger generation may not understand our history,
For this reason, this kind of celebration helps to educate our youth. Not to mention, it will give them a sense of pride in what they have inherited.
Furthermore, Juneteenth reminds America of our resilience as Black people.
