Tip & Tiny Harris Are Triumphant In $71M Lawsuit Over O.M.G. Dolls. The legal battle between celebrity couple Tip and Tiny Harris and toy company MGA Entertainment over the O.M.G. dolls has come to a dramatic conclusion. The Harris family filed a $17 million lawsuit against MGA Entertainment for allegedly using their daughter’s likeness without permission. The following courtroom drama captivated the public, with all eyes on the high-profile case.

The MGA battle began when Tip and Tiny Harris discovered that MGA Entertainment had created a line of dolls called O.M.G. This line allegedly resembled their girl group.

As Rolling Stone reported, Jurors awarded the couple over $71 million in damages. The Harrises will also receive a whopping $53.6 million in punitive damages.

It was a three-week trial in a federal Santa Ana, CA, courtroom. During the trial, the O.M.G. girl group was said to have copied 13 out of 30 dolls.

This was their third court trial, and they came out victorious. Tip and Tiny realized they were battling for their group’s rights.

The Courtroom Drama Unfolds And The Harrises Are Victorious

As the legal battle unfolded in the courtroom, both sides presented their arguments and evidence to make their case. The Harrises argued that MGA Entertainment had willfully used their daughter’s likeness to profit from the dolls.

Tameka “Tiny” Harris shared this,

“I mean, wow. They did more than I thought they would,” Tiny tells Rolling Stone after she reacted to the eye-popping award. “I would have been happy with whatever. They blessed us more than beyond. We wanted to thank the jurors so bad, but we didn’t get the opportunity.”

After it was all said and done, the Harrises were glad it was over. Tiny and T.I. formed the OMG Girlz in 2009, and they became very popular.

Their style of dress and singing ability were unique. Zonnique “Star” Pullins is the Harrises’ daughter and founding member of the group.

Bahja Rodriguez and Breaunna Womack are two other members of the trio. Reginae Carter, the daughter of rapper Lil Wayne, was a member at one point.

OMG, Girlz are known for their hit song “Ain’t Nobody” (2010). According to TMZ, MGA Entertainment allegedly infringed on the trade dress and misappropriated the all-girl group’s name, image, and likeness.

For this reason, they were ordered to pay the multimillion-dollar settlement to the Harrises. So far, only Tameka Harris has spoken to the press.

But you can best believe T.I. will have his say soon. At any rate, it was quite a victory for their family.

Indeed, this serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting one’s image and rights.

As the Harrises move forward from this legal victory, they have set a precedent.
