Singer Monica Pays C-Murder A Prison Visit. Corey”C-Murder” Miller has spent most of his adult life behind bars. And, even though his famous brother has tried to get him released.
It has been to no avail. Also, Monica has never stopped supporting him while he has been in prison. Recently, Monica paid Miller a visit. In fact, while there she took some photos of them.
The two seemed to be rekindling their romance. Or at least that is what may be happening. The visit took place at the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center, in Lousiana.
The rapper and singer dated when they were teens, as reported by Bossip. Obviously, they have stayed in touch throughout his ordeal. C-Murder’s case has gotten a lot of press.
Especially since his music mogul brother Master P has rallied for his release. But for some reason, all of Master P’s efforts have not helped him.
In addition, Monica has been very vocal about his release, as well. Unfortunately, neither Monica nor Master P has been able to get him out.
While C-Murder has been incarcerated he had been tirelessly working on his appeal.
New Evidence Should Have Freed C-Murder
It was back in 2002, that rapper C-Murder was accused of killing Steve Thomas. At the time of his death, Thomas was 16-years -old.
Thomas was at the Platinum Club in Harvey, Louisiana when he should have been home in bed, according to XXL Magazine.
Thomas had used a fake ID to get into the club. Allegedly, Thomas got into some kind of altercation with C-Murder and his crew.
On August 5, 2009 the murder trial began. Thomas father testified at his C-Murder’s trial. During the trial the jury was having difficulty coming to a conviction. The jury was deadlocked but was ordered to try again by Judge Hans Liljeberg. The jury finally reached a verdict. The verdict was 10-2. C-Murder was convicted of second – degree murder. C-Murder hearing was held on August 14 by District Judge Hans Liljeberg and was sentenced to life in prison.”
Fast forward, a few years back new information was presented in his case. Allegedly, witnesses in the case (Kenneth and Darnell Jordan recanted their testimonies.
Kenneth admitted that he felt pressure from detectives to lie, according to Vibe.
And, Darnell claims that he also felt,” threats and coercion,” according to Miller’s legal representation, attorney, Paul Barker. Both signed affidavits for Barker.
Still, C-Murder was not given a re-trial. Up to this point, C-Murder has not had any more movement in his fight for freedom.
Therefore, Monica paying him a prison visit could keep the spotlight on him. At any rate, it could get the momentum going again for his release.
