QB Deshaun Watson Facing 24 Lawsuits. The Cleveland Browns player is in big trouble. He is being accused of inappropriate sexual conduct.
Will Deshaun Face Any Jail Time?
QB Deshaun Watson Facing 24 Lawsuits. According to ESPN, the 24th civil lawsuit was filed against Watson. The attorney for all 24 plaintiffs filed in court.
Attorney, Tony Buzbee mentioned all of the cases against Watson are similar. On the other hand, Watson’s attorney Rusty Hardin shares a different account.
Certainly, each attorney believes they can win the case. However, it will be hard for Watson’s attorney to do so. Especially since there are 24 women who claim Watson sexually assaulted them.
Here is some of what attorney Buzbee shared,
“The allegations made in this new case are strikingly similar to those made by many of the other victims. Lost in the media frenzy surrounding Deshaun Watson is that these are twenty-four strong, courageous women who, despite ridicule, legal shenanigans, and intense media scrutiny, continue to stand firm for what is right. Setting aside the legal wrangling, the complicity of the NFL, or the failures of the criminal justice system, the resounding story that should be told here is that these women are true heroes. I will say again, our entire team is incredibly proud to represent these women, and we look forward to the day when we can lay out their cases in detail in front of a jury.”
Watson’s Attorney Intends To Prove His Innocense
However, Watson’s attorney Hardin’s rebuttal is,
“On a Houston radio show interview today, I mentioned that a massage that has a ‘happy ending’ is not illegal, meaning it is not illegal for someone to have consensual sex with a therapist after a massage unless the sex is for pay,” Hardin said in the statement. “Deshaun did not pay anyone for sex. I was speaking in a hypothetical situation. If there is a consensual sexual encounter after a massage, that is not a crime nor the basis for a civil lawsuit.”
Who will be the victor? Will the 24 women prove their case or not? Or will Watson emerge victorious? It remains to be seen. Although, the women have a great chance of winning.
Sometimes there is strength in numbers. Obviously, something took place in those massage sessions. But can any of it be proven? Did the women have consensual sex with Watson?
We will have to wait and see what happens. Whether or not Watson will face jail time is not possible. Most often civil lawsuits are about recovering damages or compensation.
