Jussie Smollett Releases A New Song
Jussie Smollett Releases A New Song. Jussie Smollett, who’s known for his starring role in Empire is more than an actor. Well, he’s been in the media a lot lately. And this time, he’s shaking things up.
Jussie Stands Firm
Jussie Smollett Releases A New Song. Smollett and his siblings have acted since childhood. It wasn’t until he joined the FOX drama Empire that he broke out.
An advocate for the LGBT+ community, he deemed himself the “gay Tupac.” Without a doubt, the masses reacted in scrutiny.
Well, Jussie certainly knows how to grab everyone’s attention. In January of 2019, news broke about a hate crime with Jussie as the target.
The attack was alleged to include racial and homophobic slurs. As well as someone pouring bleach on him, and shouting MAGA in support of Trump.
Soon after, charges were brought up against Smollett alleging the attack was staged. His defense team helped get the charges dropped.
However, the city of Chicago sued him creating a whirlwind of fees and court appearances. In March 2022 Smollett received a 150-day jail sentence and was ordered to pay restitution.
After making it clear he wasn’t “suicidal,” Smollett was taken into protective custody. While there, he received endless support from his family, friends, and co-stars.
Again, his legal team stepped in and he got released less than a week later.
New Song Too Soon?
The judge made sure she expressed her thoughts. She stated in court:
“There’s a side of you that has this arrogance, and selfishness and narcissism that’s just disgraceful.”
Despite the judges’ comments, he’s back in the media. Jussie appears to have a new song. He took to Instagram to share the lyrics.
“It’s like they’re hell bent on not solving the crime. Taking out the elements of race and trans and homophobia, that’s straight taking lives. But turn around and act like I’m the one that killed the strides.”
Smollett continues to maintain his innocence. Here’s more of the lyrics.
“Some people searching for fame. Some people chasing that clout. Just remember this, this ain’t that situation. You think I’m stupid enough to kill my reputation? Just simply to look like a victim? Like it’s something fun. Y’all better look at someone else, you got the wrong one.”
Finally, he sums it up with:
“All I’ve ever really wanted to do was make my people proud. Fame is nothing real; it’s how you make them feel. Celebrity is for the birds, I ain’t no man of steel. Thank you God.”
All in all, Jussie Smollett maintains he’s innocent. Hopefully, he’s in good spirits and the situation works out for the best. What do you think of the song?
